What is your purpose to take up Project Orion?
I first heard from it (Scouts of the World Award) from Team Advisor Tan Sijie in 2007 and was excited to go for one. When Sijie told me about Project Orion back in 2008, I immediately signed up. It's great to have the opportunity contribute back to the community and to make the world a better place. At the same time, I can learn something new from it. So why not take it up?
What inspires you?
Passion! Passion in Scouting, passion in what I do and of course the people who have been there, done that before me. My Scout Leaders and Seniors at the National Rover level.
What are your aims for Project Orion?
I hope that by taking up youth projects like this, I can inspire Scouts to follow in my footsteps. I also aim to be a good Team Leader for this project and grow alongside the members of my team.
Are you an environmentalist? If yes, what have you done and what have you learnt from your experience?
I wouldn't say so, though I love nature and our planet in general. I would love to do more for the environment because it's so precious to us. God gave it to us graciously and I believe it is our duty to protect it. I've done environment projects with the Singapore Rovers before like the Volvo Ocean Race Scouts Day - Race for the Environment and Earth Hour 2009 so I'm hoping my experienes in them help me for Project Orion. Nonetheless, I'm prepared to give my all for Scouting and for the Rovering with turtles!
